Those are both very realistic scenarios that could happen to you when you move to Los Angeles and I have seen them happen to others but honestly, very rarely. For the most part, people who move to LA are adventurous and stubborn about being here so they tend to be very resourceful, compromising and creative.
Becoming homeless while in LA, especially at a young and unestablished age is quite common and nothing to be worried about. In fact, once you have gone through homelessness in Los Angeles you will make a group of friends who have had the same experience and you will become each other’s support, learning the tricks of survival and the fact that- being broke has its advantages.
If for some reason, you can’t make it as a homeless person in LA, even temporarily while you create your next opportunity, and you have to go home to your family it still doesn’t mean that you are a failure. All it means is- you need a break to regroup and develop more survival skills. Los Angeles isn’t going to disappear tomorrow. Take your time getting here and give yourself room to flounder, get back up and try again.
Nothing is permanent, unless you want it to be.
