Moj Mahdara represents how infectious the spirit of Los Angeles can be. For many who make the trek to L.A. the bright lights and sprawling landscape are paralyzing. For others, the few, the elite, the electricity generated within this county limits energizes them and transforms them into who the manifestation of their greatest dreams, the person they always knew they could be.
Moj moved to Los Angeles with a song in her heart. She knew she had a gift of creativity, an eye for satisfying consumer needs and the passion necessary to become an influencer in creating marketing trends. Fifteen years ago she stepped out on a limb and became an entrepreneur. She defined herself for herself and magic happened; she became one of the most prolific serial entrepreneurs in Los Angeles County. Admired and sought out by brands who need that extra push to create the buzz their products need, Moj is considered to be a secret weapon.
When Moj isn’t out analyzing, critiquing and adding her insight to help elevate brands, she’s out shopping for the coolest solid colored shirts to wear because she feels cute when she wears solid colors. Underneath that solid colored shirt on her right arm is a tattoo of the letters L.A. Moj credits Los Angeles for helping her to realize her true potential.
“Not only is Los Angeles one of the most diverse cities in the world, but the opportunity here is unparalleled,” Moj shares. That’s easy for Moj to say with such an impressive resume under her belt. Not only did she lead her former company, Exopolis, to earn more than $300 million, she is now growing her own agency Made With Elastic and life keeps getting better and better.
This Los Angeles Power Player enjoys early morning hikes to inspire her creativity. She encourages those who are thinking about moving to L.A. to be sure that they have something to offer the industry they are trying to break into. She also offers an important warning to be mindful of the interactions you have with people because you never know how someone’s career may progress and to be open to meeting new people.
“Make sure you put yourself out there,” she says. “This is a city where everyone has a story and every story unique. Make sure you share yours, and people will naturally gravitate towards you.”
