At some point after moving to Los Angeles, you’ll meet someone who asks if you like to party. This was a new term for me and I thought it meant go out dancing.

It doesn’t.

When someone asks if you “party” they are asking if you do drugs. They are not talking about marijuana because marijuana is so common that it is not considered to be a drug. When someone asks if you party they are asking if you do cocaine or meth, which are two of the most common drugs used in Los Angeles.

Do You Party?

If you do and you say Yes you’ll probably make a new friend on the spot. If you don’t, say goodbye forever because people who “party” rarely hang out with people who don’t.
