As soon as you get to Los Angeles it is very important to get a California ID. You may think that it will be cool to show your out of state ID but it is wise to get a California ID if you plan to stay here for protection and in case you have to go to the hospital or need assistance from state services.

When you go to the DMV remember:

1) They won’t take your out of state ID.Los

2) You don’t have to have a permanent address. You can use any address as long as you are allowed to retrieve mail at that address. They don’t check. It will take up to a month to receive your new ID.

3) Make an appointment. There will be a super long line for people who did not make appointments and a much shorter line for people who did.
